Yathreb Adel is another member of the young Egyptian crop of players, and she already has a number of titles to her name.
She came runner up to Nour El Sherbini in the World Junior Championship in July 2012 but also lifted the Mexico Open the same year to offset some of the disappointment.
Adel added the Finnish Open and International des Volcans crowns to her trophy cabinet a year later in addition to triumphing at the London Open in November 2014 with a superb win over Nele Gills in the final. The Egyptian came close to lifting the Sharm El Sheikh International Championship in May 2015 but lost in five games to Welshwoman Tesni Evans in the semi-final.
Adel then made the semi finals of the Macau Open in 2017, before losing out to compatriot Hania El Hammamy in the final of the Slaight Music Granite Open. She won the Salt Lake City Open in 2018, before then making the last eight of the US Open. The Egyptian won the Pakistan Open in her final tournament of 2018, beating Nadine Shahin in the final. In 2019, Adel broke into the top 16 of the World Rankings for the first time in her career.
Adel reached the quarter-finals of the J.P. Morgan China Squash Open in her first tournament of the season, before consistently reaching the last 16 of the major tournaments throughout the rest of the campaign. Her best results came at the Monte Carlo Squash Classic, where she finished runner-up to Sabrina Sobhy.
Over the course of 2020, Adel reached the last 16 of three major tournaments, doing so at the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, Windy City Open presented by the Walter Family, and the CIB Black Ball Women’s Squash Open.
She also reached the third round of the El Gouna International Squash Open, and the Bronze level Malaysian Open Squash Championships, before making it to the quarter finals of the CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour 5.
