Catalina Pelaez is Colombia’s leading female player, and has been a consistent performer on Tour since the mid-2000s.
Her career began in 2005, where she made the quarter-finals of the Quito Open, but she then had to wait eight years before reaching the last eight of another event. That followed an appearance at the World Open in the Cayman Islands in 2012, and saw an upturn in form.
Pelaez made at least the quarters of seven straight events, including an appearance in the final of the Open International des Volcans and a last four result at the Women's I Abierto Colombiano de Squash Club El Nogal.
She made the final of the Colombian event a year later, losing out to Victoria Lust in he showpiece of the W15 level tournament. In 2016, she made it to the semis of the Bitar Cosmetics - Play Squash Women’s Open, along with a last eight appearance at the LiveStuff Open.
Pelaez continued to string together good results, making the semis of the Internazionale D’Italia in 2017, and the Bermuda Open and E.M. Noll Classic a couple of years later. She also made the last eight of the Savcor Finnish Open and the Racquet Club Pro-Series in 2020.
