Mayar Hany made her PSA debut in December 2014 at the World Championships where she reached the first round where she lost out to fellow Egyptian Nour El Tayeb.
Born in Cairo, Egypt, she won her first PSA tour title at the Seattle Open in March 2016, Hany beat Line Hansen over four games to clinch her maiden title after overcoming Hollie Naughton, Milou Van Der Heijden and Sarah Cardwell on her way to the final.
Hany also finished runner-up at the Australian Open later that year, where she lost out to India’s Dipika Pallikal Karthik over four games. Hany made the World’s top 50 in the PSA Women’s World Rankings for the first time in December 2016.
The Egyptian went on to take victory in consecutive tournaments in 2017. Hany won the Calgary Squash Week, beating Fiona Moverley in the final, before getting the better of Nada Abbas to win the Queen City Open.
She then reached the semi finals of three further tournaments in 2018. Hany made the last four of the Texas Open, Hong Kong International and the Monte Carlo Classic. Hany also went on to reach the quarter finals of the Cleveland Classic and the Macau Open in the second half of the 2018-2019 campaign.
The Egyptian reached the second round in a string of tournaments over the 2019/2020 season, including at the Cleveland Classic and the Bahl and Gaynor Cincinnati Cup, but was unable to make it any further across the course of the campaign.
That run continued over the course of the next year or so, as Hany made the second round of the CIB Egyptian Open, CIB PSA Black Ball Squash Open and the El Gouna International Squash Open, all on home soil. She finished off 2021 with a last 16 appearance at the CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour 5.
