Another of the young Egyptian force coming through on the PSA World Tour, Farida Mohamed has already made her way into the top 25 in the World Rankings.
In the first main draw she reached on the Tour, Mohamed took victory. She won the Growthpoint S.A. Open, beating Menna Nasser in the final.
The Egyptian then won three times over the course of the 2018-2019 campaign, tasting victory at the DHA Cup International Squash Championship, Pakistan International Women’s Squash Tournament and Grand Sport Armenian W5 Challenger III.
She reached the final of the JC Women’s Open, and then to at least the last eight of the Serena Huawei Pakistan International Squash Tournament and the Cleveland Classic. Her breakout performance came at the CIB Black Ball Women’s Squash Open in March 2020, as she knocked out New Zealand No.2 Joelle King en route to the third round. Mohamed then reached the same stage of the CIB Egyptian Open in her first event after the tour’s suspension.
Her good form on home soil continued into the start of 2021, as once again she reached the third round of a Platinum event at the Black Ball Sporting Club, and that was followed later in the year by her first appearance in the quarters of a major, which came in front of the Pyramids at the CIB Egyptian Open. Mohamed ended the year with another last eight appearance, this time at the CIB Squash Open Black Ball, to move into the top 25 in the World Rankings for the start of 2022.
