Hana Moataz is one of several Egyptians in the top 100, and at just 20, she has her whole career ahead of her.
She started brilliantly on Tour in 2015, making the last eight of the Malaysian Tour Squash V in her first main draw, before reaching the semis of the Prague Open. In just her fourth main draw as a professional, Moataz secured her first victory, winning the Grand Sport Armenia 1st Challenger 5 in 2016.
The Egyptian reached the semis of the Harrow Ukrainian Squash Cup and the Legacy Wealth Belfast Open later that year, before making another final the year after, where she lost out to Julianne Courtice at the Christchurch Vets Ipswich Open.
She reached another final in 2018, at the Malaysian Tour Squash VI, which came in a great of form that included quarter-final finishes at the Novum Energy Texas Open Women’s Squash Championships and the Chief of the Air Staff International Women’s Squash Championship.
2019 proved to be a breakout year for Moataz, as she reached at least the quarter-finals of all bar two events she entered including three final appearances. It started with a semi-final result at the CSC Delaware Open, before making the last eight of the E.M. Noll Classic and the Delhi Leg of the HCL SRFI Indian Tour.
Moataz then made the finals of the Aspin Cup, Serena Huawei Pakistan International Squash Tournament and the CIB Egyptian Tour 3, before appearing in the main draw of a major tournament for the first time, as she featured in Chicago at the Windy City Open in 2020.
