Menna Hamed is an up-and-coming Egyptian, who broke into the top 50 for the first time at the end of 2020.
She made her debut on the Tour in 2015, and had a couple of runner-up finishes before she took her first victory. That came two yeas after her debut, and she beat Victoria Temple-Murray in the final of the Riga Ladies Open to capture her first title.
The Egyptian won two more events before the end of the 2016-2017 campaign, tasting success at the Keith Grainger Memorial UCT Open Squash Championships and the Bull Ring Open Squash Championships, both on South African soil.
Hamed took another victory a year later, winning the 2nd PwC Open in Switzerland, where she defeated Lily Taylor to win the crown. Another victory came in South Africa in 2019, as she won the Growthpoint S.A. Open to book her place in the 2019-2020 Women’s World Championships.
She took another victory just three weeks later, winning the Delhi Leg of the HCL SRFI Indian Tour, to claim her sixth win as a professional. She also reached the semi-finals of the Chennai Leg, as well as making the last four at the Serena Huawei Pakistan International Squash Tournament.
Hamed made it into the second round of a Platinum level tournament for the first time in her career in 2021, doing so at the El Gouna International Squash Open, before later that year also making it into the second round of the Malaysian Open Squash Championships.
The young Egyptian made the quarter-finals of the Calgary CFO Consulting Services PSA Women’s Squash Week before making it to the final of the Queen City Open in her final appearance before the Tour suspended. Hamed then broke into the top 50 for the first time in her career in November 2020.
