Aqeel Rehman is Austria’s leading player on the Tour, and has been in and around the top 100 for a lengthy period of time.
He made his debut on the Tour back in 2005, and within a year, Rehman had already reached a semi-final, doing so at the Salzburg Open. He continued to reach the last four of tournaments over the next few years, before making his first final in 2011, at the New South Wales Open.
A year after that, and also on Australian soil, Rehman took his first victory as a professional, winning the Tasmanian Open after beating Gonzalo Miranda in the final. He took his second win in 2013, claiming his home title, the Austrian Open.
A pair of victories came in 2014, at the Doubledot Media Christchurch International Open and the Caldense International Squash Championship, before Rehamn won three times in four events in 2016.
He took home the Keith Grainger Memorial UCT Squash Open, Raanana Squash Centre 30th Anniversary Festival and the Shiraz Open titles, in a great spell of form. A year later, Rehman won the Austrian Open for a second time.
The Austrian then won the Gibraltar Open in 2018, and followed it up with another victory a year later, at the MTC Squash Russian Open, the tenth title of his career. He also featured in the main draw of the World Championships for the first time in 2019-2020.
