After making his maiden PSA World Tour appearance in 2005, Salazar had to wait two years before lifting his first title which came at the Saskatoon Boast.
January 2008 saw the Mexican claim a place in the world’s top 100 for the first time and he moved into the world’s top 50 in 2009.
After yet more success, Salazar captured his fifth title at the Internacional Sporta in 2010 and he retained his title the year after.
A four-year title drought then followed in which he dropped out of the top 100 players in the world. However, he returned to form at the Minneapolis Open in November 2015, beating Peter Creed in the final.
